What age did you seriously get into bodybuilding?
Around the age of 20 years old
What interested you about weight training?
I was a youth player for Portsmouth football club when I picked up my first weights. Team mates and coaches quickly noticed it made me considerably stronger on the ball
What got you hooked on bodybuilding?
I realised I was naturally strong and my body responded extremely well to lifting weights the combination of this and making very good gains early on encouraged me to continue.
Where have you trained?
Portsmouth Football Club and weights at home to begin with. Once I had outgrown my surroundings I started to train at a traditional weightlifting gym in Farnborough Hampshire. After laying down my early foundations I moved to one of the best equipped Gym’s in Hampshire which I now own.
Who aided or advised you in your career?
I’ve had help from numerous people, my good friend Ray Laurence was a big influence, and I would also like to mention Warren Treasure who guided me to my very first big win. As my career progressed Dorian Yates, helped me endlessly with his expert advice and sponsorship.

I love a good roast dinner or curry!

I can’t stand tuna.
What Bodybuilders do you admire?
Lee Labrada and Dorian Yates
What Setbacks have you had in your career?
Luckily not many! Since turning pro in 2000 I did suffer from tennis elbow on and off.
What other sports do you enjoy?
I used to play football at a reasonably high standard before focusing all my efforts on bodybuilding. I also love boxing and still train in the mornings mainly sparring and bag/pad work to keep up my levels of fitness.

What have you planned for the future?
To win the pro Mr Universe 2008 this October, apart from that my goals are to stay happy and healthy. I really enjoy running my gym and receive a great sense of achievement passing on my knowledge to up and coming bodybuilders and athletes of all kinds.
What advice would you give to upcoming bodybuilders?
Get good advice as early as possible particularly on nutrition
